# Holafly review 2026

What Holafly's unlimited travel eSIM offers, where it falls down for Nigerian travellers, and when Nosh is the better choice.

Destinations

200+ countries and regions

Plan model

Unlimited data by the day, plus a 25GB Light plan

Subscriptions

Monthly plans from $49.90, covering 160 destinations

Trustpilot

4.7 from more than 111,000 reviews

Scale

25M+ eSIMs sold worldwide (company figure)

Apps

iOS and Android, with 24/7 chat support

## The short version

* **Holafly:** Unlimited data in 200+ destinations, priced in Dollars.
* **Nosh:** eSIMs (data, data/calls/texts) you can pay for in Naira. 136 supported countries.

## Why Nigerian travellers compare Holafly with other apps

Most people looking at alternatives have hit one of three situations.

* **The card was declined:** Holafly charges in dollars and euros. Nigerian naira cards frequently fail at checkout, which is where most of these trips end.
* **It won't work at home:** Holafly eSIMs are for travel abroad only and don't provide data in your own country, so it's no use for a trip within Nigeria.
* **Unlimited costs more than you need:** The model is built around unlimited data by the day, which is generous but expensive for a short trip with light use.

## What Holafly does

Holafly sells data-only travel eSIMs for more than 200 destinations, mostly on an unlimited-data-per-day model, delivered by QR code or through its own app, with regional plans for multi-country trips, a 1GB monthly "Always On" allowance in 150+ countries, 24/7 chat support in several languages and a published refund policy.

## Holafly pros and cons

Based on its published plans and terms, and on its public review record.

| Pros | Cons |
| --- | --- |
| Unlimited data plans, ideal for streaming, calls and remote work | Priced in dollars and euros, with no naira option |
| 200+ destinations, plus regional plans for multi-country trips | No data in your home country, so it can't cover a trip inside Nigeria |
| 4.7 on Trustpilot from more than 111,000 reviews | Data-only: no calls or SMS on most plans |
| Apps on both stores, 24/7 chat, and a published refund policy | An eSIM can't be reinstalled or moved to another phone |
| 1GB monthly "Always On" allowance in 150+ countries | Unlimited pricing is poor value for a short, light-use trip |

## What users say

Travellers rate the service highly. The friction for Nigerians shows up before the eSIM does.

| What users like | What users complain about |
| --- | --- |
| Truly unlimited - No data anxiety on long trips. | Payment rejected: Naira cards declined at checkout. |
| Support that answers - 24/7 chat, named often in reviews. | Price for light use - Unlimited costs more than you need. |
| Simple install - QR code or the app, done before you fly. | One install only - Change phone and you buy again. |

## How users rate it

Where these reviews were drawn from.

| Platform | Rating | Reviews |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Trustpilot | 4.7 | 111,000+ |

Checked September 2026. This is the largest verified review base of any platform in our comparisons, and it is genuinely strong. Bear in mind it reflects travellers worldwide, most of whom paid with a card that worked; it says little about the experience of buying from Nigeria.

## Holafly vs Nosh: how they compare

A global travel eSIM brand against a West African wallet that sells travel data. These are the rows that decide it.

| What differs | Holafly | Nosh |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Pay in naira | No, USD and EUR only | **Yes, from your wallet balance** |
| Dollar card needed | Yes | **No** |
| Destinations | **200+, plus regional plans** | 136 (global eSIM) |
| Unlimited data option | **Yes, that's the core product** | Data bundles |
| Works for travel inside Nigeria | No, abroad only | **Yes, plus airtime and data at home** |
| Also in the same app | eSIM only | **Gift cards, crypto, bills, betting top-ups** |

Checked 11 September 2026. Plan prices vary by destination and duration on both platforms, so compare your own route on the day you buy. The fuller breakdown is on the Nosh vs Holafly comparison page.

## Where each platform is ahead

These two aren't really the same product. These are the differences that matter most.

### Where Holafly is ahead

* **Unlimited data** the reason heavy users pick it over bundles
* **Coverage and scale** 200+ destinations and 25M+ eSIMs sold
* **Proven track record** 4.7 on Trustpilot from 111,000+ reviews
* **Traveller extras** regional plans, refunds and 24/7 multilingual chat

### Where Nosh is ahead

* **You can actually pay** naira from your wallet, with no dollar card to be declined
* **Money you already have** buy travel data from gift card or crypto proceeds
* **Useful at home too** airtime, data and bills in Nigeria and Ghana
* **Local support** a team in your market, not a global queue

## Our verdict

A genuinely excellent product with one problem: paying for it from Nigeria.

Holafly is the strongest travel eSIM brand we've reviewed, and we're not going to dress that down: 200+ destinations, unlimited data as the default rather than a bundle you ration, 25 million eSIMs sold, and a 4.7 Trustpilot score from more than 111,000 reviews. If you are a heavy data user on a long trip and you hold a card that works internationally, it is a very good choice. The catch for Nigerian travellers is at checkout, because Holafly prices in dollars and euros and Naira cards are routinely declined, and its eSIMs deliberately don't provide data in your home country, so it can do nothing for you before you fly or after you land back. Nosh sells local, regional and global eSIMs you pay for in naira from a balance you already hold, and the same app handles your airtime and bills at home.

If your dollar card works and you want unlimited data abroad, buy Holafly. If your card keeps getting declined, or you'd rather spend a balance you already have, that's the gap Nosh fills.

## What People Also Ask About Holafly

### Is Holafly legit?

Yes. Holafly is an established international eSIM provider with apps on both stores, a 4.7 rating on Trustpilot from more than 111,000 reviews, and a published refund policy. The question for Nigerian travellers isn't whether it works, it's whether your card will go through.

### Can I pay for Holafly in naira?

No. Holafly charges in dollars and euros, so you need a card that works for international payments, and Nigerian Naira cards are often declined. Nosh sells travel eSIMs priced in naira, paid from your wallet balance.

### Does Holafly work in Nigeria if I live there?

No. Holafly states that its eSIMs don't provide connectivity for domestic use in your home country. They are built for travel abroad, so they can't replace a local data plan.

### Is Holafly's unlimited data really unlimited?

Its unlimited plans are the core product and reviewers generally report them working as described. Speeds can drop in areas with poor coverage, as with any network, and specific conditions vary by destination, so read the plan description for your country.

### Can I make calls with a Holafly eSIM?

Not on most plans. They are data-only, so calls and SMS go through WhatsApp, iMessage or similar apps. Some plans offer a local number as an add-on.

### What happens if I change phones mid-trip?

Holafly says an eSIM can't be transferred or reinstalled once installed, so switching phones or deleting it by accident means buying a new one. Worth knowing before you travel.

### What is a good alternative to Holafly in Nigeria?

If paying in dollars is the problem, Nosh sells travel eSIMs in naira from the same wallet you use for gift cards, crypto and bills. If you need unlimited data abroad and your card works, Holafly is the stronger product.

## How we reviewed Holafly

What we looked at, and where each figure came from.

We looked at the plan model, destination coverage, payment currencies, delivery and installation terms, and the restrictions published in Holafly's own FAQs, including home-country use and reinstallation. The rating comes from its Trustpilot profile. We did not buy a plan, install an eSIM, or test network performance ourselves, and we did not compare prices, because they vary by destination and duration. Everything was checked on 11 September 2026.

We have tried to be accurate and to show where Holafly is ahead, but you should read this as a comparison published by an interested party, not as independent research.

**Where the information came from.** Plan details, destination coverage, payment currencies, restrictions and refund terms were taken from Holafly's own website and FAQs, and its rating from its Trustpilot profile, all checked on 11 September 2026. We did not buy a plan, install an eSIM, or test network performance ourselves.

**On the payment issue.** Card declines on international purchases from Nigeria depend on your bank, your card type and your limits, and are not something Holafly controls. Some Nigerian travellers pay successfully with a virtual dollar card or an international card. We describe a common experience, not a guaranteed outcome.

**We did not compare plan prices.** eSIM pricing varies by destination, data allowance and duration, and changes frequently. Check the current price for your own route in each app before buying.

**Device compatibility.** Travel eSIMs require an eSIM-capable, carrier-unlocked phone. Compatibility, network partners, speeds and coverage vary by destination and device. Confirm your phone supports eSIM before buying any plan.
